Process re-engineering
By reviewing the workload, input and expected output, we are able to help re-define processes that are both effective and efficient. Stakeholders are always involved in the preliminary phases, and help define what the expected results really are. An undefined process cannot be managed, nor can it be tracked or counted. Our objective is to design and implement processes that are manageable and produce quantifiable outputs.
First, a process must be defined, and once understood by all involved,l it can be successfully measured and possibly improved. Processes involve manual and automated steps, but the definition stage is the one that identifies the steps to be taken.
A number of methods can be used during the definition phase. Diagrams are a great way of describing and agreeing on process steps with Management. Simple work flow diagrams can quickly help identify bottle necks or unnecessary iterations, for example.

Project
The STEAM project looked at re-engineering the software development life cycle. Based on the Agile Methodology, CSConsult helped implement the Seven Technology Enterprise Agile Methodology (STEAM), allowing different units of work to complete a cycle before ready for general release.
The deployment of this solution was instrumental in significantly reducing the time in which code was released. Quality improved as a direct result of this methodology.
